Upper Gastro-intestinal (UGI) Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist, Band 7.

If you have worked in cancer nursing or Upper Gastro-intestinal (UGI) cancer nursing and are looking for a new challenge in your career then read on. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced and motivated nurse with excellent leadership and communication skills to join our UGI cancer CNS team in the substantive role of a 1WTE (37.5 hours per week) Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist. The post-holder will be innovative, dynamic and passionate about patient experience.

North Bristol Trust has a very active nurse-led UGI cancer service and you will be working alongside a band 6 CNS. This job offers a great opportunity to be in a leading role delivering high quality care and support to cancer patients and their families.

The post holder will work collaboratively with a range of health care providers across Bristol and the wider region. The role involves managing and maintaining a caseload of UGI cancer patients, undertaking nurse-led clinics: face to face, telephone and follow-up of patients.

A responsibility of the role is to provide specialist information, support, advice and education to the patient and their family (in-patients and out-patients) from diagnosis and throughout the whole cancer pathway on treatment/management of their cancer. As the band 7 CNS you will be expected to lead the service and continue to assess and make modifications, where necessary to provide the best service for our patients.
