Returning to Practice

North Bristol NHS Trust is currently looking to recruit the next cohort of Return to Practice Adult Nurses. The return to practice programme supports nurses with a lapsed NMC registration pin to return to the profession. We work closely with the University of the West of England (UWE), to support you through every aspect of the academic and clinical practice requirements to allow you to re-join the nursing register. All return to practice nurses at North Bristol NHS Trust start on a Band 3 training contract and are paid during their 450-hour supernumerary clinical placement. We have a variety of placements available and will do our best to help you find a role with a working environment and contract that meets your needs.  During your placement you will be assigned a practice supervisor and assessor who will support you, alongside the rest of the team.

On successful completion of the Return to Practice course you will be offered a Band 5 post with us and we aim to accommodate your desired career pathway when placing you in a permanent position. 

How is the course funded?

The university course fees are paid for by Health Education South West. Return to practice students will also receive a bursary to support with childcare, travel, and book costs.
