Band 5 Scrub Practitioner for Neurosurgical Theatres (Registered Nurses or Operating Department Practitioners). Suitable for Newly Qualified or experienced staff.
North Bristol NHS Trust is the largest hospital trust in the South West of England, providing hospital and community healthcare to the residents of Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset. We are also a specialist regional centre for a number of services including neurosurgery, renal, medicine, plastics, burns, orthopaedics and we are also the Major Trauma Centre for the South West Region.
At North Bristol NHS Trust we have 34 operating theatres and interventional suites delivering a wide range of pioneering surgery. Due to development of the neurosurgery services, we are looking for enthusiastic, motivated individuals with a flexible approach to work, to join Team Theatres. The neurosurgical department is one of the largest in the South West and has an international reputation for the management of Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, tumour surgery, spinal surgery and elective robotic neurosurgery. We also provide care for patients who have undergone all forms of traumatic brain and spinal cord injury.
We are looking for Theatre Practitioners (RN/ODP) to join the scrub/circulating team. You must be highly motivated, organised, have excellent communication and be able to work effectively alongside the established teams to deliver holistic patient care. Previous experience of working as a Scrub Practitioner is desirable but not essential as full preceptorship will be provided.
In addition you must have:
- Current NMC registration OR be an Operating Department Practitioner registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC)
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Ability to work a full pattern of shift, including late shifts and nights
