NORTH BRISTOL NHS TRUST

Clinical Fellow SpR Level in Trauma & Orthopaedics - Spines

(FULL TIME)

Applications are invited for a Clinical Fellow Speciality Registrar level in Trauma & Orthopaedic Spinal Surgery, as part of the Orthopaedic Registrar rotation. The post will commence 06th February 2019 for 6 months only.

This post will be based at the Brunel Building, at the newly built Southmead Hospital.

This post involves a combination of trauma and elective orthopaedic surgery. This post is specifically aimed at Neurosurgeons and Orthopaedic Surgeons in their final year of training. For Orthopaedic Surgeons there is the possibility of participating in the orthopaedic on-call rota, for Neurosurgeons there may be provision to join the neurosurgery on-call rota. Neurosurgical trainees will be considered for this role.

Such posts would suit either a senior trainee or other registrar level doctor keen to have experience of the work of the regional major trauma centre or a district general hospital with mixed trauma and elective orthopaedics.

This post is not recognised for training and does not have postgraduate deanery approval. However the job is educationally sound. It is desirable that candidates have experience and familiarity with UK hospital systems and practices or equivalent. Candidates must have GMC registration that allows them to work in posts that are not recognised for training.
