Transplant Co-ordinator Band 6.
This challenging and exciting role requires a Registered Nurse who possesses:
• Good organisational skills.
• Ability to manage ones individual workload/caseload.
• The capacity to work within a small team but also autonomously.
• Ability to work closely and develop good working relationships within the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Considerable expertise and knowledge in renal transplantation nursing.
An essential part of the role is the on-call commitment for kidney offers. This will involve being responsible for liaison with numerous medical, laboratory and nursing colleagues for providing a safe, efficient & smooth process for the patient’s journey from call-in to transplant operation.
Demonstration of effective verbal and written communication skills will be required. The successful candidate will be involved in the deceased donor and living donor transplantation programme. Within this role, there is a strong commitment to providing specialist advice and support to renal transplant recipients, potential living kidney donors and their families, throughout every stage of transplantation or the living kidney donor assessment pathway. A sympathetic & empathetic attitude and sensitive manner will be required. New staff are well supported by all members of our team whilst undergoing an orientation programme.
Candidates will need to possess a minimum of 2 year’s post registration experience. Excellent communication skills combined with an enthusiastic and flexible approach to work are essential in this diverse but rewarding role.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
