The department of Plastics, Dermatology and Burns, in the Division of Anaesthetics, Surgery, Critical Care and Renal (ASCR), has a vacancy for the role of Support Manager.

We are looking for a proactive, enthusiastic and hard-working individual to ensure the smooth delivery of our day to day operations. This is a busy service with many elements and is ideally suited to a responsive and resilient individual, that seeks continuous improvement and long term solutions to problems.

The post-holder will report directly to the Operations Performance Manager and be responsible for a number of administrative staff. Line management responsibilities include; annual leave, sickness and performance management. Operational responsibility will cover a mixture of; outpatient utilisation, theatre utilisation, patient pathway management, Cancer and RTT waiting time target achievement, funding policy management, clinic letter turnaround whilst adhering to budgetary constraints.

The successful applicant will either have demonstrable experience of managing teams previously or has shown an interest in line management, e.g. training courses or other relevant studies. They will also have some experience of working towards targets and tight deadlines, whilst also managing multiple simultaneous tasks. This is a challenging role and an excellent career opportunity for the right candidate. The candidate wants to be challenged and is always seeking to learn new things to improve their portfolio of skills. They will research the role and the department before deciding to apply. The hiring criteria and expectation is set very high to ensure we recruit a top candidate that will excel in this role.
