The Rosa Burden Centre, Neuropsychiatry – Band 5 Mental Health Nurse

The Rosa Burden Centre is looking for an enthusiastic registered mental health nurse to join their team. The successful candidate will work on a 12 bedded inpatient unit and will be working alongside the multi-disciplinary team of the Consultant, the CBT therapist, Occupational Health and Physiotherapy in supporting individuals during their admission.

The successful candidate will have the desire to gain experience in working with individuals with complex mental health needs such as functional neurological disorders, non-epileptic attack disorder, and personality vulnerabilities. You will have a sound knowledge of The Mental Health Act, The Capacity Act and The Deprivation of Liberty Act. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage in continual personal development of their choice of therapy which will compliment the inpatient service.

The successful candidate will support the out patient assessment clinic by assessing suitability and engagement and deliver psychoeducation to the patient. Full training will be provided.

THE ROLE – As a Mental Health Nurse, you will play a key role within a team of nursing staff in the delivery of evidence based patient-centered care, which is of a high standard. Key duties will include:

• Working with patients who have attended with both medical and psychological needs

•Supporting the medical and nursing team in providing excellent care to patients with mental health needs

• Working with patients who had complex and challenging mental health needs

• Embracing the core values of the Trust at all times

Newly qualified nurses will be offered a perceptorship
