We are looking to appoint a full time, HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist in the Neuropathology Department at Southmead Hospital on a fixed term contract of one year.

The successful applicant must have the motivation and aptitude to become proficient in the wide range of techniques used in this specialty and be able to follow instructions and procedures.

The ideal candidate will be organised, keen to learn and reliable. They must be able to work effectively as part of a small team, as well as being able to work independently. Excellent communication skills are required and the candidate must have attention to detail. Some knowledge of BSN EN ISO:15189 would be an advantage.

The Neuropathology department is located in new purpose-built laboratories at Southmead Hospital, and processes neuropathological specimens from surgical patients or autopsies. The Department is fully UKAS accredited, actively participates in training programmes and encourages CPD activities.
