MRI Radiographer Band 6 –Advert-Full Time or Part time

North Bristol NHS Trust (NBT) is the largest NHS organisation in the South West with ambitious plans to provide outstanding care for the populations of Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.  NBT has the following specialist health services:- major trauma, neurosciences, vascular centre, plastics and burns, MSK and renal services and is also a prestigious, internationally recognised teaching and research organisation providing care regionally and nationally. Our clinical teams have built a strong reputation for excellent healthcare. Our acute services moved into a brand new, state of the art hospital building in May 2014. The new 850 bed facility at the Southmead site offers patients single room with ensuite facilities, greatly improving privacy and dignity and reducing the spread of infection.

NBT Radiology Department is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated part time radiographer to join the MRI team, which carries out approx. 30,300 MRI examinations per year. Radiographers available to work shifts on Thursday, Friday or alternatively just weekend days would be considered.

A radiographer with MRI experience would be preferred. Applicants must have been working in Radiology for at least four years and experience of cross sectional imaging would be an advantage, together with excellent communication and computer skills. You must hold the Diploma of the Society of Radiographers DCR(R) or BSc Radiography or equivalent and have a current Health Professions Council (HCPC) registration. A Post grad qualification would be an advantage.

You will be required to participate in the running of 4 MRI scanners based in the Brunel Building on the Southmead Site. There is also a 5th scanner which is part of the rotation at a local community hospital. You will be working on a rota basis within the MRI team covering 7.30am - 9.30pm days Monday to Friday along with some weekend work. Band 6 radiographers also have to participate in a 24 hour on-call service.

The benefits you will get from joining the radiography team are a strong commitment from NBT for your individual personal development, the prospect to work with a fantastic and friendly team of peers, and a department that is always open to new ideas and suggestions from all team members, providing a collaborative working environment.

If you think you possess the necessary skills to fulfil this role then don’t waste another minute and apply now!
