IR Band 6 Radiographer Advert

North Bristol NHS Trust (NBT) is the largest NHS organisation in the South West providing outstanding care for the populations of Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.  It is a centre for specialist health services for major trauma, neurosciences, vascular, plastics, orthopaedics and renal services and is also a prestigious, internationally recognised teaching and research organisation providing care regionally and nationally.

NBT Imaging Department is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated radiographer to join their multi-disciplinary IR team.

Applicants must ideally have been working within Imaging for a year, plus an additional two years’ experience within IR. Further consideration would be given to those wishing to train as a band 5 in this modality to achieve band 6.

An experience of cross sectional imaging would be an advantage, together with excellent communication and computer skills.

You must hold the Diploma of the Society of Radiographers DCR(R) or BSc Radiography or equivalent and have a current Health Professions Council (HCPC) registration.

The Interventional Radiology department consists of six labs with a mixture of single / bi-plane and hybrid systems and 2 multipurpose fluoroscopy rooms.

You will be required to participate in all rooms, covering a range of procedures including cardiac, neuro and peripheral work.  There will also be a requirement to rotate to the Hybrid neuro lab within the Bristol Children’s Hospital.

The department is open 8:00am – 8:00pm Monday to Friday and additionally covers 8-8 for stroke at the weekend. Band 6 radiographers will be required to participate in a 24 hour on-call service for IR and stroke provision.

The department offers opportunity for extended roles for radiographers. Currently there are radiographers performing nephrostomy exchanges, spinal injections, EVAR follow up service, cystograms, bariums studies and Hysterosalpingograms.

The benefits you will get from joining the radiography team are a strong commitment from NBT for your individual personal development, the prospect to work with a fantastic and friendly team of peers, and a department that is always open to new ideas and suggestions from all team members, providing a collaborative working environment.

If you think you possess the necessary skills to fulfil this role then don’t waste another minute and apply now!

Bristol is well served by road, rail, air and cycling links making it ideally placed for access to South Wales, the West Country and further afield. Bristol and Bath are also well served with theatre, cinema and leisure facilities.
