We have an exciting opportunity to welcome a new Band 3 Health Care Assistant into our dedicated and skilled team on Cotswold Ward at Southmead Hospital. We are looking for somebody that is dynamic, proactive, supportive, and passionate about women's health.

Cotswold Ward is a fast paced and dynamic gynaecology ward which cares for women within Bristol. It has a co-located Gynae Emergency Clinic and manages a daily theatre list. It is situated within the division of Women and Children. 

As a specialty we are committed to delivering the highest standard of care that has patients at the centre, and we are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, proactive and caring health care assistant to join our team.

Main duties of the job

All applicants for this role will be required to successfully pass all parts of the selection process (literacy & numeracy testing and interview).

During the interview, our Learning and Development team will meet you to discuss your experience and qualifications and confirm your educational pathway if successful at interview.

If you are on an apprenticeship (or completing training required for your job), you will be issued with a training contract for the qualified band level. Training commitments are explained in the special conditions of the contract. If you do not have eligible NHS Service or are not currently an NHS employee, you will be paid a training wage until you complete the training required for the role.

Band 3: Training salary for this role is 75% of the top of the band. However, this will be topped up to meet the national minimum wage rates.

  • Under 23 years of age: £17,950.23 per annum pro rata (excluding unsocial hours and overtime payments)
  • Over 23 years of age: £18,575.94 per annum pro rata (excluding unsocial hours and overtime payments)
