A new exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 7 Endometriosis Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join the dedicated specialist team at North Bristol NHS Trust. The department at Southmead Hospital seeks to appoint an experienced women’s health nurse to join our Multi-disciplinary team within our BSGE accredited centre.

The registered nurse will be required to have extensive experience working within a gynaecology or women’s health setting, a willingness to be educated to master level and display master level thinking and decision making with insight into endometriosis and all areas of the management of the condition. The remit will be to work closely with the Lead Consultant and the other members of the MDT to further develop the specialist endometriosis service in Bristol and ensure recognition in specialist commissioning.

The post holder will be required to utilise their specialist skills and knowledge in Endometriosis to implement and deliver independent nurse led clinics. The Clinical Nurse Specialist will prevent lengthy emergency admissions to the inpatient ward by improving access to clinics and treatments whilst ensuring a support network is available to our patients.

If a suitable candidate is unable to be appointed with the essential skills to band 7 there may be potential for a trainee Band 6 nurse to be appointed, who would be expected to be fully trained within 2 years which would include gynaecology assessment skills, non-medical prescribing qualification and the Guildford Endometriosis course.
