Clinical Fellow - ST3 level and above

Endocrine Transplant Surgery

We wish to appoint a Clinical Fellow in Endocrine and Transplant Surgery to start as soon as possible for a period of 6 months with an option to extend to 12 months. 

This post will give the candidate excellent experience in one of the largest NHS Trusts within the UK.  The team totals 7 consultants (3 vascular surgery sub specialisation, 2 endocrine sub specialisation, 2 renal failure and transplantation sub specialties).  The firm (excluding vascular consultants) deals with all aspects of thyroid and parathyroid surgery, elective general surgery and renal transplantation from both living and deceased donors. We currently perform over 130 renal transplants a year, with around 40 being from live donors. We also perform around 10 paediatric transplants a year.

The post holder will be required to participate fully in theatre sessions as required, both elective and emergency and to provide supervision and support for more junior surgical trainees within his/her competence.

The postholder will also be required to take part in the emergency general surgical on-call rota.

In addition ot the above there will be a supplement for out of hours working
