Are you looking for the first step in your nursing career with the NHS? Would you like to work in an organisation that supports you in your development from your very first day? Would you like to work in the largest teaching hospital trust in the South West of England and in one of the best hospital sites in Europe?

Your role as a Healthcare Assistant involves working alongside other practitioners on the front-lines to provide direct care for our patients. All staff members at North Bristol Trust strive to provide ‘Exceptional Healthcare, Personally Delivered’. We do this by living our Trust’s values:

Putting Patients First
Working Well Together
Recognising the Person
Striving For Excellence

The Role

We are a specialist regional centre for major trauma, neurosciences, plastics and burns, orthopaedics and renal services with a turnover in excess of £500m. With 8,500 dedicated staff, our clinical teams have built a strong reputation for exceptional healthcare, personally delivered.

You will be working in our state-of-the-art £430 million Brunel Building. This 800 bed hospital at the Southmead site offers patients single rooms with ensuite facilities, greatly improving privacy and dignity and helping to control the spread of infections.

We are looking to recruit Healthcare Assistants who have a passion for working in the health care sector and are able to demonstrate enthusiasm for learning and development and safe patient care. You will be a high performing individual who is flexible and driven by the exciting challenges that lie ahead while demonstrating that you can live the Trusts values.

We are looking to recruit to full-time roles on a substantive basis. We can also support some part-time posts within some specialties, with a minimum of 22.5 hours per week. You will need to be flexible to accommodate the various shift patterns within the Trust.

This job may be offered to you as an apprenticeship opportunity, if you need training, and may start on a percentage of the normal starting salary, dependent upon the training required.

The qualification you receive will be a Level 2 Diploma in Clinical Healthcare Support; this will take 12-18 months to complete.

Band 2 payscale: £15,404-£18,157 pa for those meeting the full requirements of the post as detailed in the person specification excluding unsocial hours or overtime payments.
