North Bristol NHS Trust
Our large and modern hospital has just under 1,000 beds and employs more than 8,000 staff. Each year we see almost 100,000 A&E attendances, perform close to 40,000 operations and conduct more than 500,000 outpatient appointments. We are a regional centre for Trauma and other specialities and host Severn Pathology Network. Our Genomics Laboratory Hub will be at the centre of developing the new Genomics Medicine Service across the South West of England. Our most recent CQC inspection rated the hospital as Good overall and Outstanding for the well led domain.
We are currently looking to recruit a professional and motivated Charity Accountant with strong communication skills. The post holder will be responsible with the day to day operation of the Charity Accounting, including financial stewardship and liaising with the charity and relevant stakeholders. This will also involve producing the monthly internal and external financial reporting along with the production of annual statutory accounts. The post holder will need to provide accounting advice to the Charity on a regular basis and be flexible in managing their own priorities.
The post holder will be an integral member of reviewing, enhancing, designing and implementing policies and procedures across the Charity.
This role will encourage continuous improvement and the post holder will be required to be involved in ad hoc projects for the Charity and the Trust.
The post holder will also be expected to use high level of analytical, interpersonal and negotiating skills to develop excellent working relationships with a range of internal and external managers across the organisation.
To succeed in this role at NBT you will:
Be a part or fully qualified Accountant with either experience in the NHS, Charity environment or a complex organisation.
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A good understanding of financial accounting and reporting.
Possess very good system skills including Microsoft office.
Be a good team player.
