An exciting opportunity has arisen for an self motivated, enthusiastic senior finance professional to join the Senior Financial Leadership Team at North Bristol NHS Trust. We are looking for a dedicated and innovative self-starter to support the development and delivery of the financial plan and continue to provide high quality, forward thinking support to the Executive Directors, Clinical Divisions and wider Trust as it continues to rise to its financial challenges in the coming years.

North Bristol NHS Trust is a progressive and ambitious teaching and research organisation, and a specialist regional centre for major trauma, neurosciences, plastics and burns, orthopaedics and renal services. With a turnover of £585m and 9,000 staff, our clinical teams have built a strong reputation for exceptional healthcare, personally delivered.

Provision of expert finance and business knowledge, challenge and clear presentation of financial and business information to clinical and non-clinical colleagues including reports to the Trust Executive and Board will be key components. Constructive and positive challenge of all aspects of financial and business performance across the Trust will also be expected from the role holder.

This will be a very challenging but rewarding role which would suit an individual who aspires to a Deputy Director of Finance role in the next few years and will give successful applicants a very broad range of professional development and experience of all aspects of the activities of a busy teaching hospital. Successful applicants will have real scope and autonomy to shape and develop the roles themselves and this is a great opportunity for the right candidate to make a tangible and lasting contribution to the development and financial stability of the Trust.

You must be a qualified CCAB accountant with a good track record of delivering results at a senior level within a large complex environment (preferably NHS but not essential) complemented by a keen interest in strategic issues.
