Shift Pattern Wed/Thur/Fri 19.00-07.30 (Nights)

and every other Saturday 6 hour admin 19.00-01.00 (Night)

North Bristol NHS Trust is one of the largest providers of hospital and community healthcare in the South West and we are now working in our new state of the art hospital in the Brunel Building on the Southmead Hospital site. Southmead is a large acute hospital providing healthcare services for the surrounding population of North Bristol, catering for many differing theatre disciplines such as Trauma, Neuro, Orthopaedic and robotic surgery, whilst also offering flexible scope procedures pertaining to Endoscopy and Urology. The successful candidate will report to the Production Manager as well as be responsible for the day to day decontamination of the Trusts surgical instrumentation and flexible scope devices. They will lead a team of circa 76 wte enabling an operating period of 24/7 365 days per year.

They will also liaise with theatres on a regular basis to ensure that good working relationships are maintained and that theatre efficiencies are achieved.

The successful candidate will have a comprehensive knowledge of reusable device decontamination gained via a minimum of 2 years’ experience working within a decontamination environment.

They will also have experience of managing teams, rotas, sickness and all other associated tasks pertaining to operating a people process.

An understanding of quality systems and notified bodies would also be an advantage. This is a real ‘people and task’ management role and a demonstrable track record of change and structured management will be required at interview via a fifteen minute presentation.
