Decontamination - Team Leader x 2 Vacancies

Vacancy:- 06.00-14.00 Monday to Friday

North Bristol NHS Trust is one of the largest providers of hospital and community healthcare in the South West and we are now working in our new state of the art hospital in the Brunel Building on the Southmead Hospital site. Southmead is a large acute hospital providing healthcare services for the surrounding population of North Bristol, catering for many differing theatre disciplines such as Trauma, Neuro, Orthopaedic and robotic surgery, whilst also offering flexible scope procedures pertaining to Endoscopy and Urology. Our values mean we are passionate about providing good quality care and our patients know our primary focus is to provide ‘Exceptional Healthcare, Personally Delivered’

The successful candidate will report to the Production Coordinator and will assist with the daily running of the production areas for the decontamination of the Trusts surgical instrumentation on the shift to which they are assigned. The Team Leader will also liaise with theatres on a regular basis to ensure that good working relationships are maintained and that theatre efficiencies are achieved. Good leadership skills are required to ensure that the correct procedures and policies are followed and maintained. The Team leader must be able to lead a large team with various levels of experience.

The successful candidate will have a comprehensive knowledge of reusable device decontamination gained via a minimum of 2 years’ experience working within a decontamination environment. A good overall understanding of the different theatre specialties is required.

An understanding of quality systems and notified bodies would also be an advantage. This is a real ‘people and task’ leadership role.
