Assistant General Manager - Facilities

This is an exciting senior management position, within the Facilities Directorate at North Bristol NHS Trust, to lead FM operational services and drive forward new delivery initiatives for the benefit of staff, patients and visitors.

Based in Southmead, a large acute hospital in North West Bristol, the successful applicant will lead a portfolio of services currently including cleaning, portering, catering and patient transport and is a mix of in-house and contractor led services.

The budget portfolio is approx. £15.5 million.

Candidates will be highly motivated, motivational and driven and will need to have extensive experience of managing a large and diverse workforce within a significant and complex organisation. Experience of working in an acute hospital environment in the facilities management sector would also be advantageous but not essential. 

Candidates will need to showcase how they have delivered strategic change to services, delivering quality and cost improvements while maintaining stakeholder support through collaborative working. They will also need to demonstrate an ability to develop a team, ensuring a strong focus on delivery. The successful candidate will have exceptional communication, presentation and analytical skills and commercial and contractual experience. A presentation evidencing this knowledge and experience will be required at interview. Details of the presentation will be sent as part of the shortlisting information.

The Assistant General Manger post is part of a larger senior management team in the facilities directorate and will be expected to support and play an active role in driving improvement through the whole directorate.
