37.5 Hours per week - Full time substantive contract.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and trustworthy individual to join our friendly team of Pharmacists, Technicians and Supporting staff in the busy Pharmacy Department at Southmead Hospital.

The work is varied and interesting and will include working as part of the distribution team, with some dispensary and reception duties. Distribution duties include visiting wards, ordering and processing ward stock requests as well as delivering and putting medicines/IV Fluids away at ward level. Dispensary duties include dispensing medication for inpatients and outpatients and performing daily stock checks.

Good communication skills and attention to detail are essential, as is an ability to work well with other members of the team. This is a vital role that requires a conscientious and methodical person who is able to keep pace with the work. Basic keyboard skills are also essential.

While previous experience is desirable, full induction training is provided and further training will be given towards an NVQ level 2. A willingness to learn is important and the post would be ideal for someone wishing to start a career in hospital pharmacy.

The Pharmacy Department within the Brunel Building is modern with excellent facilities and requires staff to work shifts between the opening hours of 8am-7pm daily and 10am-2pm Saturday/Sunday and bank holidays.

Band 2 payscale: £15,404 - £18,157 pa for those meeting the full requirements of the post as detailed in the person specification excluding unsocial hours or overtime payments.
