We are seeking to appoint two Medical Engineering Technicians, Entry Level (Band 4) to work within Clinical Equipment Services, North Bristol NHS Trust.  The purpose of these posts are to carry out acceptance and in-service checks on a range of medical devices such as medical weighing scales, medical gas devices, medical electrical equipment and pressure relieving equipment.

These are permanent, full-time positions. 

Candidates must have a National Diploma or equivalent in a relevant engineering subject, or the ability to demonstrate equivalent skills and knowledge gained through previous work experience. Some experience of carrying out and recording results of engineering checks on technical equipment is desirable.

Successful candidates will be expected to work in accordance with the Departmental Quality Management System, which complies with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015. Use of non-standard IT packages would be advantageous as employees are required to maintain accurate records on the Medusa Medical Equipment Database. 

There may be the requirement to participate in a 7 day working rota within specific discipline in Clinical Equipment Services.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
