Owing to new funding to support weekend services, an opportunity has arisen for a Senior Occupational Therapist to lead our specialist service in vascular surgery, based at the award winning Brunel Building, Southmead Hospital.

North Bristol NHS Trust is the major arterial centre for the regional network and is responsible for the delivery of both elective and emergency vascular care . The caseload consists of adult inpatients and there is close multi-disciplinary working and links to Bristol Centre for Enablement for prosthetics and wheelchair services.

There is peer and senior support available for this post, which is part of the wider occupational therapy service at North Bristol, a large teaching trust that provides a number of specialist regional services. Regular placements are provided for undergraduate students and the role will also include supervision of Band 6, Band 5 and support staff.

Development opportunities and training are available to facilitate your CPD, with quality improvement projects  and service development ideas actively encouraged.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working within the specialty or a related field and also of supervision and line management.

Roster patterns will soon include regular weekend working to enhance services provided across the week. Prospective candidates are welcome to seek further information prior to application. Secondments will be considered.
