Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician Band 5

Key duties include:
- performing a range of duties including dispensing and accredited pharmacy technician checking
- supervision, training and development of new and existing staff
- staff planning and rotas
- providing support to other sections of the Pharmacy Department
- providing support to the Mass Vaccination Programme
- coordinating the supply of compliance devices
- supporting the day to day running of the dispensary
Our friendly and progressive pharmacy department is currently looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking individual to join our pharmacy team. The role will involve supporting the smooth running of the dispensary from training and supporting staff to development and implementation of new ways of working. You will work in partnership with our clinical pharmacy team to provide a seamless and efficient patient experience.
You will play a critical role in inspiring and supporting staff within the team with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
There will be the opportunity to acquire a breadth of experience, grow in confidence and enhance your knowledge of pharmacy services and leadership skills.
There will be training provided through enrolment onto NBT Management modules, this involves subject areas such as appraisal and development review, understanding the benefits of assertive communication, diversity and inclusion. The training will also provide you with the skills and knowledge to perform your day to day role with confidence, for example interacting with outpatients at the pharmacy hatch, answering complex phone queries within the dispensary.
If you are a registered Pharmacy Technician who possesses good organisational and communication skills, have an S/NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy services plus an accredited underpinning knowledge or equivalent qualification, who is reliable, enthusiastic, self-motivated with a passion to improve patient care and strives for excellence and seeking a new challenge with the opportunity to further develop your pharmacy career then come and join our team here at North Bristol NHS Trust.

Always looking towards innovation we have recently taken the lead in the successful setup of the Ashton Gate and Nightingale Vaccination programme, implemented a new Pharmacy system and look to introduce cross sector training for technicians with our primary care colleagues.
Working hours will be within 08:00 and 19:00 Monday to Friday plus participation in the weekend bank holiday rotas, if working at Mass Vaccination, where hours will be between 07:00 – 20:30 7 days a week.
