Applications are invited from enthusiastic, adaptable individuals who would enjoy working as part of a friendly team providing the Cellular Pathology service in this busy department. You will be involved in the day-to-day support work of the Histopathology laboratory including data-entry, assisting in the reception and preparation of clinical specimens for biological testing and with the maintenance of equipment and departmental filing systems.
Additionally, as a Higher MLA (Band 3) you will be involved in specimen embedding and microtomy duties and you will also have some responsibility for supervising and training Medical Laboratory Assistants.

You will be able to work as part of a team, be able to demonstrate adaptability and initiative and have good communication and organisational skills. Applicants are required to have good keyboard skills and a working knowledge of the pathology IT systems would be desirable, although full training will be provided. Applicants must have Histopathology laboratory experience.
