Trainee Consultant Radiographer, NHS, Bristol, to £42,414k+ excellent NHS benefits

POST:  TRAINEE CONSULTANT RADIOGRAPHER, BREAST 

GRADE: BAND 8A (Band 8B WHEN QUALIFIED)

LOCATION: AVON BREAST SCREENING, BRISTOL BREAST CARE CENTRE.

HOURS: 2 wte 37.5 hrs per week

Avon Breast Screening is seeking to appoint two highly motivated Trainee Consultant Radiographers in Breast.

We are a friendly, progressive team committed to providing a first class screening service to the ladies of Bristol, Bath and Somerset at both static and mobile units. Additionally we provide a first class symptomatic service at the Bristol Breast care centre at Southmead hospital. We run daily assessment clinics, core biopsy clinics and one-stop clinics therefore the ability to work well in a multi-professional team is essential, as is a commitment to the provision of a high quality service.

The applicants must hold a recognised Postgraduate film-reading qualification and interpret and diagnose screening mammograms according to local and national protocols. The applicant will be able to work towards a Post-graduate qualification in Advanced Mammography Practice at Masters Level, in order to perform clinical examination, stereotactic core biopsies and pre-surgical wire-guided localisation procedures.

The applicant will also perform and issue reports on breast ultrasound examinations and will work towards a Postgraduate certificate in Breast Ultrasound. There is an expectation that the post holder will show an interest in research and audits and take part when necessary.
