The Lead Freedom to Speak Up Guardian will work alongside trust leadership and a network of FTSU guardians and champions to support the organisation in creating a culture where all staff are actively encouraged and enabled to speak up safely and effectively.

The successful candidate will be passionate about making NBT a better place to work and a safer place to receive care, and will have the ability to operate independently, impartially and objectively to achieve the following outcomes:

- a culture of speaking up instilled in the organisation

- effective speaking up processes

- all staff have the capability and confidence to speak up, and managers have the tools and capability to support those speaking up

- all staff are supported appropriately when they speak up

Applicant requirements

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
