North Bristol NHS Trust is one of the largest providers of cancer services in the South West and we are looking for an experienced and committed nursing leader to join our team. The successful applicant will play a strategic leadership role in developing Trust-wide high quality cancer specialist nursing services, in partnership with a wider team of health care professionals and cancer support workers.

The successful candidate will:
• have highly developed interpersonal skills demonstrating compassionate leadership
• be passionate about improving cancer services in line with local and national objectives and quality initiatives
• have the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to ensure that we provide a high quality service across health, social and voluntary sectors.
You should be a registered nurse, educated to Masters level, with significant experience in cancer nursing, including management and leadership.
Working alongside the clinical specialties and the Cancer Lead Consultant and Cancer Manager, the Lead Cancer Nurse will ensure that all specialties are implementing national best practice within the NHS Long Term Plan and the quality surveillance framework. In particular, The Lead Cancer Nurse provides strategic leadership for the Personalised Care and Support initiatives across the Trust. The post holder will also represent the Trust within the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire System and the wider South West Cancer Alliance and as such will need to be able to influence these groups to support the Trust cancer strategy.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
