We have an exciting opportunity to join the Breast Care team within North Bristol NHS Trust as a Specialty Manager for Symptomatic. The Bristol Breast Care Centre, the first of its kind in the South West, opened in 1995 as a self-contained, dedicated unit where patients are seen by various specialists who are experts in diverse aspects of the management of breast disease. It was one of the first centres in the country to launch one-stop clinics, has twice been awarded the prestigious Charter Mark as a centre of excellence and received a Gold Star on the Peer Review.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the team on a permanent basis. The post holder will be responsible for the effective management of outpatient and elective performance for the Symptomatic Breast speciality within the Division. The post holder will manage these teams to ensure high quality scheduling of outpatient and elective activity within the specialty, including proactive patient-level management of Cancer waiting times, RTT and 18-week pathways. Working closely with a range of colleagues from all disciplines, the post holder will plan and co-ordinate resources to ensure achievement of access targets in line with Trust objectives.

The post holder will be responsible for monitoring demand for services and ensuring that the Trust achieves its key performance objectives. The post holder will also ensure that patients are managed in line with Trust policies and national standards for booking. The post holder will co-ordinate and manage the day to day running of all breast units including hub and spoke sites based across Southmead Hospital and Weston General Hospital.

There is an expectation that the post holder act as lead for service improvement including but not limited to efficient scheduling; to improve performance and support the delivery of high-quality and other project responsibilities as required.
