A post has arisen for a Receptionist to join the Theatre and Mediroom department in the Brunel Building at Southmead Hospital.
The successful candidate will work as part of the theatres and medirooms reception team to deliver a co-ordinated and responsive service to patients, their relatives, visitors and staff. Carry out a range of reception and administrative duties in relation to the day-to-day running of the reception areas.

Receive patients, their relatives and other visitors into the theatre suites and promote an efficient, courteous and responsive service.

Ensure that patients are admitted, transferred and discharged efficiently and in a professional manner.
The successful candidates will possess excellent organisational and communication skills, good organisational and planning skills, have the ability to prioritise own workload and work as part of a team.
Good keyboard skills is essential and a good understanding of patient admission and discharge procedures with experience of working with patient information systems, preferably Cerner is desirable.
You will be required to work flexibly between 4pm- 8pm Monday to Friday (20 hours per week) and some weekend working 7am-12 noon.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
