Haemodialysis- Registered Nurse Band 5

Bath Dialysis Unit

The Richard Bright Renal Unit is regional renal transplant centre with five Haemodialysis Satellite Units across the Bristol area. We also have an acute Haemodialysis Unit and an inpatient renal dialysis and renal transplant ward on the Southmead Hospital site.

Bath Dialysis Unit is based at the Bath Royal United Hospital in Bath. This is a nurse lead unit provide haemodialysis treatment for up to 82 patients.

We strive to deliver compassionate patient care and offer excellent professional development opportunities.

Patients attending Satellite units to undergo treatment to remove waste products from the blood stream using a dialysis machine. As kidney failure is a long term condition, patients and staff develop long term professional relationships. Patient treatment can take them through transfers to other treatment modes for example transplantation or peritoneal dialysis and supportive care for those patients nearing the end of their lives.
We support our patients to work jointly with staff in decision making on their treatment and active involvement in the treatment procedure through shared and self-care programmes.
The Satellite Haemodialysis Units are nurse led with support of a consultant nephrologist. We are keen to support newly qualified nurses and to inspire them to develop themselves professionally on their journey through their nursing career. We are able to offer posts as part of a rotation including the renal ward 8B based on the Southmead Hospital site.

This post is full time.
