We are looking for two enthusiastic and trustworthy people to join our friendly team of Pharmacists, Technicians and Supporting staff in the busy dispensary at Southmead Hospital.
The work is varied and interesting and includes both working as part of the dispensary team and some reception duties. Reception duties include dealing with the receipt of prescriptions from Outpatients and ward staff. Dispensary duties include dispensing medication for inpatients and outpatients, maintaining stock, performing daily stock checks.
We are part of a multi-disciplinary pharmacy team which supplies medication not only to Southmead hospital but to outside hospitals and units.
Good communication skills are essential as well as an ability to input data accurately and self-check as you work. This is a vital job that requires a conscientious and methodical person who is able to keep pace with the work.
Previous Pharmacy experience is not essential, but a willingness to learn will be important. Full induction training is provided. The Pharmacy Department is modern with excellent facilities.
There is a requirement to complete a level 2 NVQ qualification.
The pharmacy department is open from 8am -7pm daily and 10am– 2pm Saturday/ Sunday and bank holidays
Band 2 payscale: £17,460 - £18,702pa for those meeting the full requirements of the post as detailed in the person specification excluding unsocial hours or overtime payments.
Where this is not the case and training is required for the post the salary will start at £13,617 pa (£6.98 per hour) excluding unsocial hours or overtime payments.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
